He studied Information Sciences at the Universidad del País Vasco and completed a year of Film and Television at the University of Coventry (UK). He made several music videos, such as the documentary Visiones artísticas para el fin del milenio. In 1997 he launched himself as screenwriter for the hit Médico de familia. Later, he also worked as screenwriter, director, and executive producer of 7 vidas, Aída, and Cuatro Gominolas. His first feature film, Fuera de carta (2008), was followed by films that are proof of his talent as a film director and writer: Que se mueran los feos (2010), Perdiendo el norte (2015), No manches, Frida (2016) and Por los pelos (2021).
